The legal situation in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is not on Hyperliquid's restricted list. On 11 February 2026 the SFC said licensed virtual asset trading platforms (VATPs) may offer perpetual contracts, but only to professional investors and under leverage, margin and liquidation controls. Retail investors therefore have no licensed perps venue. We found no SFC action naming Hyperliquid.

What are your options in Hong Kong?
If Hyperliquid or local law restricts this country, the honest answer is: don't try to get around it. Using a VPN breaks Hyperliquid's Terms of Use and may break local law. Look for derivatives platforms licensed by Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), and check back here: rules change.
