The legal situation in Taiwan
Taiwan is not on Hyperliquid's restricted list. On 30 June 2026 the Legislative Yuan passed the Virtual Asset Service Act, which moves VASPs to a full licensing regime and requires offshore providers that solicit Taiwanese users to set up locally and get FSC approval. The Act is expected to take effect by early 2027. Crypto derivatives are not yet permitted; lawmakers asked the FSC to propose a plan within a year.
Key facts

- No FSC action specifically naming Hyperliquid or DEX perps was found.
What are your options in Taiwan?
If Hyperliquid or local law restricts this country, the honest answer is: don't try to get around it. Using a VPN breaks Hyperliquid's Terms of Use and may break local law. Look for derivatives platforms licensed by Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), and check back here: rules change.
